Matten knew it wouldn’t be simple when she decided to pursue a career in acting. However, she regarded it as an opportunity to represent her country, which gave her strong motivation.
Jessica’s first known acting role was in the 2010 short film “Pigs.” Even though it was a little effort, the lady thought it would help her understand the mechanics of filmmaking a little better.
She has minor appearances in shows/movies such as “Footsteps Into Gangland,” “The House,” “A Red Girl’s Reasoning,” “Robot Love,” and “Level Up” from 2011 to 2014.
Finally, a TV series called “Blackstone,” developed by Ron E Scott, gave her a significant break, focusing on the political context of Canada’s Indigenous people.
Jessica’s career took off after working on this show; thus, it was a win-win situation for her. “Frontier” premiered in 2016, and Matten’s performance as Sokanon was excellent. In the CW drama “Burden of Truth,” she played Gerrilyn Spence.
