Austin Butler is not related to Gerard Butler in any way except that they share the same last name and the same field of profession, i.e., acting. Although they share the same surname, Austin is American, while Gerard is Scottish.

Austin began playing the guitar at the age of thirteen and the piano at sixteen, and he enjoys composing and recording music. He enjoys collecting guitars, participating in outdoor activities such as basketball, hiking, cycling, and working out at his home gym.

On the other hand, Gerard has split his time between Los Angeles and Glasgow since October 2011. During the production of Of Men and Mavericks in Mavericks, California, in 2011, he was transported to Stanford University Medical Center after having a surfing accident.

Gerard was in talks to play Feyd-Rautha in the impending science-fiction epic Dune: Part Two, according to Deadline Hollywood, in March 2022. Before the film’s pre-production, this was confirmed in May 2022.
