The young and talented gymnast comes from an African-American family; his parents are Natalie Hawkins and Timothy Douglas. Even though Gabby didn’t see much of her father who was absent due to the nature of his job, she was trained by a single mother. During this time, her father served in the Air National Guard and toured Iraq and Afghanistan. The youngster did not enjoy a stable childhood; she lived with a foster parent early in her career due to her family’s circumstances.
It may interest you to know that Gabby is not her parents’ only child. The talented gymnast also has two sisters, Arielle and Joyelle Douglas, as well as a brother, Johnathan Douglas. Arielle, his older sister, was a former gymnast and she taught him the basics while encouraging him to take up gymnastics. Today, that paid off and she has become one of America’s most famous artistic gymnasts.
